SONIC ARTWORK





A collaboration with artist Victoria Evans, this location based sonic artwork produces haunting melodies from tidal data.



Sonified Data



Tidesong made audible the rise and fall of the tide and its relationship to the earth, the moon and the sun. Through this collaboration Ray Interactive helped Victoria to develop aspects of her work into a mobile web app.



Location Based Web App.



Listen to the sonification of the tidal data from your closest tidal measurement location or choose from 700 locations around the UK. Granting the app. access to the phones motion sensors allows for personal modulation of the audio.



Explore the Map



The Web App collected Tidesongs when and where they happened. With the interactive map on tidesong.app you could listen to and compare tidesongs created by others.



Bespoke Motion Graphic



The graphic motif was created from a 3D photoscan of a beach on the Scottish Isle of Mull. An animated version featured on the desktop home page.
