ABOUT THE ROLE



We are Ray Interactive, a creative design studio based in Leith, specialising in hybrid (digital+physical) interactive projects. We are currently looking for a mid-weight web developer to assist us on a per-project basis.

The role will chiefly involve building responsive, performative websites from visual and code assets provided by our core creative team. Some of these sites will be simple, static 5-pagers; others will require user registration, form submission and other integrations.

For the right candidate, the role will be the beginning of a long-term association with significant opportunities for career development.




REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Converting static artwork into responsive HTML5/CSS/JavaScript web assets
  • Node.js
  • Working with a LAMP stack
  • Writing clean, documented, structured code
  • Familiarity with relevant best practices
  • Using bundling and version control systems (when needed), e.g. Webpack, Git
  • Working closely to a brief
  • Efficient time management


ALSO DESIRABLE

  • Vue.js experience
  • Server management
  • Python Graphics coding techniques (GLSL/WebGL/OpenCV)
  • ML/AI coding techniques
  • Mobile app development


RATE

  • negotiated day/rate or per project fee


START DATE

  • Beginning March/April 2022
  • Multiple projects scheduled during 2022
