IMP

How can we leverage the power of mobile for interactive and immersive art, turning any phone into a show asset or artifact.

What’s the Story?
IMP is a tool we developed to create hyper-connected, interactive group experiences. We’re currently exploring how an orchestrated network of publicly owned mobile devices can be utilised live to help drive a narrative or enrich an experience.

Audience Agency
How would over 150 people react to using their mobile phones at the same time as part of a live prototype Opera – ‘AI Kaiden’?

Minimal Friction
To showcase ease of access we created a game called Polypong. A simple QR code scan allows a safe instant connection via any network.

Tested in the Wild
We’ve road-tested IMP at various music festivals connected to one of our tactile interactive sculptures, the Giant 303.
